Our next
generation of StarPrint/VB is available!
This version is a complete rewrite, and
you won't believe the changes!
A source code printing add-in for Visual Basic, StarPrint/VB comes in two editions: Standard and Professional. The Standard Edition allows you to print and preview your Visual Basic source code on nicely formatted pages. The Professional Edition gives you even more! And yes, the Standard Edition is now available as a FREE DOWNLOAD, and is no longer bundled with Object Briefcase. Here is a short list of features:

|
Version 3.5.1 Changes Released July 29, 2003 |
A fix was
applied to better allow StarPrint/VB
work with modules outside of the main project directory or its
subfolders. As well, StarPrint/VB was modified to allow you to specify the page # you want the printout to begin on. This will allow you to print a very large project (or projects) in smaller batches, allowing for contiguous page numering. In order to do this, the Table Of Contents has moved to a roman numeral system of page numbering to account for this. This change has, by necessity, made a disconnect between the absolute page numbering and the printed page numbers (in the Print Preview dialog and the print pages section of the Print dialog). International font support has been provided through the "International Script" dropdown on the Fonts tab of the Options dialog. This will allow your strings and comments which use international code pages to print correctly. Better access has been provided to allow changing printer settings on the fly for a particular print job. The ability was added to reverse the order of the printed pages for those printers that reverse the order upon output. Research was done to see if a "print to file" method would be able to be easily added to StarPrint. This feature is still unavailable with this version, but a workaround has been discovered. If you need this feature, simply add a printer to your system that prints to the "FILE:" port. Select the appropriate printer driver and then name your printer something like "Print To File". Then if you want to print to a file, select this printer and the operating system will ask you for a file name (you will have to watch for the dialog as sometimes it can go to the background... just use the taskbar to bring it to the front). Make sure to type in the path as well for your file or else it will end up in the StarPrint folder. The standard ending of files of this type is ".PRN". |

Version 3.4 Changes Released January 5, 2001 |
Folder Browsing
has now been improved to support network folders via UNC, as well as the
desktop. Better support for parsing and syntax highlighting allows StarPrint/VB to handle long blank line wrapping. As well their is better handling of quotes and comments that are on wrapped lines. Changes were also made to support
distribution through VBxtras. |
|
Version 3.3 Changes Released April 24, 2000 |
Provides a fix for a bug that caused crashing on subsequent previews or prints on some configurations of Windows 95. This release also includes a fix to keep the drive and directory boxes synchronized on the folder selection dialog. |
|
Version 3.2.2 Changes Released January 7, 2000 |
This version provides a fix to the font selection in the Professional Edition, as well as provides a concise explanation in the ReadMe.TXT file of how the fonts are used. |
|
Version 3.2.1 Changes Released July 12, 1999 |
This version replaces the common printer dialogs with custom ones to provide better integration, especially under Windows NT. Particularly improved is the ability to select Landscape or Portrait without losing the setting during the session. |
|
